Telen met minder drain is goed voor teelt en rendement
Op basis van onderzoek, kennisoverdracht, technologische vernieuwing en ervaring weten telers hun productie en kwaliteit voortdurend te verbeteren. Toeleveranciers dragen hun steentje bij aan opbrengstverhoging en kostenreductie. Substraatproducent Grodan pleit voor Het Nieuwe Water Geven: meer bereiken met minder, door drainwater en meststoffen maximaal te hergebruiken. Recycling Drain Water: Improving the Efficiency of Water and Fertiliser Use
A steerable substrate with a focused irrigation strategy combined with recycling the drain water can significantly help reduce input costs as well as enable compliance to environmental emission laws without affecting yield and quality. Substraat vergt aandacht voor goede start en stuurbare teelt
Tijdens de teeltwisseling staat alles in het teken van een schone start van het nieuwe seizoen. Het substraat verdient zowel daarvoor als daarna bijzondere aandacht. Jos Beerens van Grodan en productmanager Bram Hendrickx van tomatenkwekerij Wilbert van Oers nemen de substraatmat en de start van de teelt onder de loep. De kwaliteit van beslissingen en de uitvoering daarvan kan grote gevolgen hebben voor het verdere teeltverloop.

Plantenkwekers omarmen nieuwe steenwolplug
In mei presenteerde Grodan de nieuwe Pro plug aan plantenkwekers uit Nederland en België. Onderzoeker Onno Boeren en teeltcoördinator Erik Heijs van Beekenkamp Plants in Maasdijk, die nauw betrokken waren bij de praktijkproeven in het ontwikkelingstraject, zijn te spreken over de uniformiteit van de plug, die iets hogere aantallen bruikbare planten oplevert dan de standaard plug.

Teeltwisseling met oog op kaderrichtlijn water
De teeltwisseling biedt een uitgelezen kans om de kas te ontsmetten, te reinigen en een schone start te maken met een nieuwe teelt. Grodan geeft een aantal aanbevelingen om de mateigenschappen optimaal tot hun recht te laten komen en om de eerste liters voedingswater al vóór de start van de teelt te kunnen sparen.
